Resistive Touch screens

A resistive touch screen is generally the most affordable touch display available. However it has a lower image quality than other touch technologies because of its layered composition.

The resistive touch screen has been designed for industrial type applications. It is very reliable and durable and is resistant to dirt and moisture. Because of the reduced clarity of the screen, a resistive screen is less suitable for use in presentation applications or information kiosks.

Projected Capacitive Touch screens (PCAP)

Wired PCAP

The wired projected capacitive touch screen technology uses a protective layer in front of the display. This protective feature enables industrial touch solutions to be installed behind a store window or to be covered with vandal-proof glass.

Projected capacitive technology resists heavy impacts, vandalism and scratches. It is also protected against extreme heat, rain, snow and ice and even cleaning products. This makes this touch screen technology ideal for use in outdoor applications.

ITO Projected Capacitive Touch screens

This projected capacitive touch technology uses an ITO layer that senses the touches being made. With ITO PCAP it’s possible to use multi touch, gloves and use cover lenses. The use of cover lenses creates a very ruggedized solution.

Several coating options can improve the optical performance for your particular project. Examples are anti finger print, anti glare, anti reflective and anti scratch coatings.

An ITO PCAP industrial touch screen is mainly used for displays from 2.8 inch up to 22 inch.

Multi Touch

Multi touch is a touch screen technology that recognizes when a display is being touched at more than one point. This touch technology enables more functions like pinch to zoom.

A multi touch display also gives users the opportunity to use the screen with more than one person at a time. This interactivity makes it more flexible in use and makes working together easy.

A multi touch display can be used to write, draw, sketch and brainstorm using different touch objects.

 

 




Protective Glass and Polarizers

Cover glasses and polarizers for a touch screen come in a variety of sizes and differ in thickness. Choose thermally hardened glass for extra protection. Use it to vandal-proof your screen application in outdoor environments. Or add special polarizers that make the screen anti reflective or anti glare. Infrared Touch Screens

A solution based on the infrared touch technology offers suberb image clarity. The original image quality is preserved because there is no film in front of the display.

After a simple installation, the touch screen can be operated with either a finger, gloved finger or a pen. An infrared touch display can be scaled in size up to 150 inch in diagonal.

SAW Touch Screens

As the name might suggest, a surface acoustic wave (or SAW) touch screen uses sound waves. The sound waves are conducted over a perfectly smooth glass surface. A touch event is registered when the sound waves are absorbed by a touching fingertip.

The SAW touch screen technology uses clear glass, which guarantees a high quality image and a good protection against chemical substances. Because a surface acoustic wave touch display doesn't use electrically conductive surfaces, the chance of damage or wear is minimal.

Optical Imaging Touch Screens

An optical imaging touch screen uses multiple optical sensors that detect a touch point. The touch is registered right before the actual physical contact with the screen is made.

For users this means they can apply minimum pressure to the screen to create a response. And they can use any input device such as a finger (with and without glove), pen or stylus. 

Because the optical touch technology does not use a coating overlaying the touch screen, it gives out a crystal clear image. Next to that, scratches don't effect the screen operation. This makes it very suitable for use in demanding public environments.
